William Stramm, Treasurer

William (Bill) R. Stramm is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He is retired. His last position was as a Training Manager within Northrop Grumman’s Technical Services sector, where his principal efforts were centered on U.S. Army training. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Tampa and a Master of Science in systems management from the University of Southern California.

 

With Northrop Grumman his focus was on the Army’s Brigade Combat Team Modernization (BCTM) where he led the advocacy support for BCTM across two Northrop Grumman sectors. He was responsible for the development of collective and leader battle staff tasks for the BCTM program.

 

Mr. Stramm previously served 22 years in the United States Army where he held a variety of command and staff assignments. His last assignment prior to retirement was in Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he was serving as Chief, Functional and Architecture Branch, Defense CALS Executive. Mr. Stramm was an Armor and a Procurement officer and certified as an Acquisition Manager, having been selected for the Army Acquisition Corps. His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal (with three Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Parachutist Badge, the Pathfinder Badge, the Ranger Tab, and the Identification Badge for the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

 

Mr. Stramm is currently the Treasurer for the George Washington Chapter of the Association of the United States Army. He is a Planning Commissioner for the Town of Cape Charles. He serves on the Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation’s Advisory Board. He is a past President of the Cape Charles Rotary Club and past Assistant Governor with Rotary District 7600. He is past Commander of American Legion Northampton, Virginia Post 56, past 1st District Commander, and currently is a Vice Commander for the Department of Virginia. He is on the Board of Directors, New Roots Youth Garden in Cape Charles. He is a member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), the Association of the United States Army, the U.S. Army Armor Association, the Army Historical Foundation, the National Museum of the United States Army, and the National Association for Uniformed Services (NAUS). He is also a serving elder at Holmes Presbyterian Church. Prior to relocating to Cape Charles, Virginia, Mr. Stramm was on the Board of Directors for the Lake Braddock Community Association, where he served as the President and Vice-President.

 

He is married to the former Diane Colardeau of Florham Park, New Jersey. They have two grown children, Dana and Sean.
